Preschoolers at The Learning Experience®, one of the nation’s fastest-growing Academies of Early Education for children six weeks to six years old, in Brushy Creek invite the Austin community-at-large to their first-ever “Paint it Forward,” a free family-fun event. Part of The Learning Experience’s first-of-its-kind, proprietary philanthropy curriculum taught nationwide, the students and parents will be given supplies to create various artwork which event attendees will have the opportunity to bid on and purchase, with all proceeds benefiting children in need. The event will take place on February 24, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at 15542 Ranch Road 620 N in Austin, Texas. Attendees can expect to participate in different activities throughout the event including face painting, photo booth, a heart-shaped cookie decorating station, and taking tours of the facility. Light refreshments will be served. Additionally, taking inspiration from the curriculum designed to teach the core tenets of selflessness, generosity, and giving, all proceeds from the paintings will be donated to Make-A-Wish® to help grant “wishes” of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. “We are excited to host our first ever ‘Paint it Forward’ to bring Brushy Creek and all our surrounding communities together for a great cause,” said Patrick Kohlbrenner, Business Manager at The Learning Experience in Brushy Creek. “It’s a great opportunity to reinforce the philanthropic lessons our students learn consistently within our classrooms as they put what they learn into action while having fun.” In addition to raising thousands of dollars for various charities across the country, The Learning Experience Corporate has raised $1.5 million for Make-A-Wish to-date, its partner in creating its unique philanthropy curriculum taught at the academy’s 170 operating locations nationwide. Make-A-Wish grants wishes for children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions in the United States and its territories. With the help of Grace The GreyhoundÔ and Charity ChihuahuaÔ, the lovable and huggable dog mascots for philanthropy at The Learning Experience, the philanthropy curriculum helps teach children that it is not how big or small you are, it is the size of your heart that matters. Through animation, classroom activities and participatory songs, Grace and Charity introduce children to topics like the value of helping others, volunteering and donating.
