Date: Saturday June 30, 2018 Time: Symposium and discussion start at 13:00 Doors open from 12:00* Venue: Onboard Peace Boat Ocean Dream Bontelabo 2 Bergen Registration Deadline: Friday, June 22, 2018 Peace Boat and United Nations Association of Norway will hold an event on board Peace Boat’s ship in Bergen which will bring young leaders from small island states in the three regions of Pacific and Indian Oceans and the Caribbean together with activists and experts people in Bergen to protect the ocean and climate. Young leaders from states on the front line of climate and ocean change including Fiji, Palau, Timor Leste, Mauritius, Barbados and Singapore, are travelling onboard Peace Boat through Europe. They are visiting Stockholm to Copenhagen, Bergen, Reykjavik, Halifax and complete their journey in New York and engaging with local people in the ports they visit to share the situation in their island homes and to hear from local perspectives and solutions and solutions. Join us for an event which will look at ocean and climate, and how our communities are affected by tourism with perspectives from islands in the Pacific, Caribbean and the Indian Ocean and in Bergen. Featuring live music performances from Small Island Big Song with artists from the Solomon Islands, Rapa Nui, Borneo, Taiwan and Madagascar! Celebrate the islands' culture! Organisers: Peace Boat is a Japan-based NGO with consultative status with ECOSOC of the United Nations and a campaigner for the Sustainable Development Goals. We organise global educational voyages onboard a passenger ship sailing with the Global Goals logo on the hull. Peace Boat is building Ecoship with a 40% reduction in CO2, the Ecoship seeks to address ocean acidification. The ship has closed water and closed
waste systems to combat marine pollution. United Nations Association of Norway is an information office working on International Affairs and sustainable development. UNA Norway is collaborating with schools all over Norway. There are 6 branch offices, the one in Bergen is coordinating the visit of the Peace Boat. FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? There is no minimum age limited, however, all participants are required to submit their official ID information in advance, due to port security requirements. Children should be accompanied by a teacher or guardian. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Please be sure to bring a printout or save an image of the ticket. Can I update my registration information? Until June 22 updates may be made to registration information; after that deadline, information will be submitted to the port authorities and so no changes can be made. Is my ticket transferrable? Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends? Due to port security requirements, each visitor must have registered in advance, and also display the corresponding ID on the day. For this reason, transfers or changes of tickets are not possible.
